My Background

My knowledge and skills come from my formal education (a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and doctorate in physical therapy) and from my experiences as a clinician, coach, and athlete myself. I not only understand the principles behind training the body but also know how to prevent and rehabilitate injuries. Because of my educational background I can provide a level of service that many coaches cannot. I can provide biomechanical analysis of your running gait or bike position. And I can provide competent coaching to people with a history of injuries and those that wish to avoid them.

I am a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS by the National Strength and Conditioning Association) with extensive experience designing conditioning programs for a wide array of clients. For four years I worked for a hospital designing conditioning programs for individuals completing rehab and for people with chronic disease conditions. During my time working for the hospital and later as a personal trainer I was also involved in training healthy individuals, including a variety of athletes and even a new USBL basketball team.

I now blend this background along with my own experiences training for and competing in bike races and triathlons to specialize in working with cyclists, duathletes and triathletes. On a limited basis I can also help people with other fitness or athletic goals with specific strength and cardio conditioning plans. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
