About Michael Madison

Dr. Madison has had over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist, consultant and coach, assisting individuals, groups and organizations in overcoming adversity and achieving their goals in life. He has worked with professional and amateur athletes in the successful implementation of peak performance psychology to achieve their sports and personal goals. Dr. Madison has presented extensively to schools, organizations, and to professional groups on stress related disorders and effective methods of stress recovery and performance enhancement. He was sports psychology consultant and coach for a member of the U.S. National Tae Kwon Do team. For over 5 years Michael taught peak performance psychology to cyclists and multi-sport athletes at the Eddie B racing camps in Southern California. Michael is certified as an Expert Coach with the USA Cycling.

Dr. Madison received his doctoral degree in psychology from Kent State University and his masters from Washington University.
He has been a dedicated, competitive athlete for over 30 years.  He holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do marital arts, and has competed and placed in over 100 martial arts tournaments.  In addition, Michael has competed in national and international marathons and triathlons.  An avid cyclist, Dr. Madison is a Category 3 racer.  Over the past decade he has consistently placed top 5 (age group) in the Ohio State Time Trial Championship.

 Dr.Madison maintains a private practice specializing in stress recovery, and peak performance psychology. A special area of interest for Dr. Madison is assisting cyclists in recovering from the psychological and negative performance effects of crashes and injury. In working with cyclists and multi-sport athletes Michael integrates coaching with mental skills training to focus athletes to perform to their true potential and to win.
